Kelli R. Thompson, LCB, CCS
Called to lead others through international development and empowerment, Kelli is dedicated to providing international trade advisory, training, and customs compliance consulting to companies and countries around the globe. Kelli has spent extensive time overseas in countries including Zambia, Guatemala, Kenya, Lesotho, and The Bahamas, providing technical assistance to developing countries and leading textile verification teams on behalf of the United States government.
Kelli's background includes over 15 years of international trade experience, including work for the US Department of the Treasury, Office for Technical Assistance (OTA) and partnerships with many international organizations. She formerly worked for US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as a Supervisory Import Specialist (SIS) and a Course Development Instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Charleston, South Carolina.
Kelli advises companies from around the globe on compliance programs and guides governments from developing countries through the complex articles set forth in the World Trade Organization (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement. As one of the country’s leading experts in international trade and compliance in the United States, and a licensed US Customs Broker, Kelli regularly advises and consults with some of the world's largest entities in developing specialized trade compliance programs.
In addition, as a sought after speaker and thought leader, Kelli is often asked to comment on industry related trends, customs compliance, and international trade in developed and developing nations.
